Durack Civil is on the lookout for an experienced Mechanical Fitter who’s hands-on, adaptable, and ready for the challenge of working across regional and remote civil infrastructure projects.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role is critical in ensuring the reliability and performance of our fleet and plant equipment across a diverse range of civil works. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing equipment on-site, often in remote project locations, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:
Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter (Cert III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent)
Demonstrated experience working with heavy machinery, plant, and fleet in a civil construction setting
Ability to work independently in remote and regional locations
High-risk work licence (desirable)
Current manual driver’s licence (essential)
Strong commitment to safety and preventative maintenance
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Inspect, service, and maintain a range of civil construction plant and equipment
Diagnose and repair breakdowns onsite and in-field
Keep accurate maintenance records and reports
Work closely with onsite supervisors to ensure equipment availability aligns with project schedules
Travel between project sites as required
Proactively identify and resolve mechanical or electrical issues to minimise project disruption
