Expression of Interests: Data Center Asset Engineer (6-month contract)
As a key contributor to digital maturity and operational excellence, the Asset Engineer plays a critical role in optimizing how assets are managed throughout their lifecycle. The role focuses on ensuring asset data, systems, and processes align with business objectives and support long-term value creation. Success in this position requires strong technical expertise, analytical rigor, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders to deliver strategic asset management outcomes.
Using your blend of analytical and engineering skills the role will collaborate closely with a broad range of internal & external, technical & non-technical partners, site-based asset & maintenance teams along with internal & external systems, data and technology partners to foster continuous improvement in asset management practices, directly supporting our mission to build smarter, more resilient data centres.
- Asset Information / Asset Data -uplift & maintenance of asset data / asset register quality (accuracy, integrity, completeness etc). Driving evolution & maturity of digital approaches to asset data creation & management through the asset lifecycle and across all asset systems - leveraging automation & AI and supported by external & internal data & tech partners. Supporting the management of Asset Master Data
- Asset Systems -development & implementation of asset systems (EAS / CMMS / CDE [Common Data Environment] / AIM [Asset Info Model]) in collaboration with our Tech (IT), design, BIM, product, development,
construction and operations teams
- Maintenance Management - Supporting the development & maintenance of our SOW (Maintenance Scope of Work) framework. Supporting the Technical Ops Maintenance Manager, and site Technical/Maintenance Managers in implementing and maintaining the SOW framework involving standardisation of the maintenance specs, control of technical content, change control, doc control and interaction/interface with our CMMS/EAS.
- Supporting the development & evolution of maintenance maturityincluding development of risk based & predictive maintenance approaches including exploration of PoCs and trials.
- Asset Lifecycle / Strategic Asset Management -supporting development of asset lifecycle (cost) planning, including development of multi-year capex plans
- Support & maintenance of the Asset Management Framework - including review / development / audit / improvement etc
What You'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Asset Management, or related discipline).
- 5+ years of experience in Asset Management, Maintenance Engineering in mission-critical environments or data centres.
- Demonstrated experience managing asset information, asset registers, and asset master data throughout the asset lifecycle.
- Solid understanding of maintenance management principles, including preventive, predictive, risk-based, and reliability-centered maintenance methodologies.
- Knowledge of asset lifecycle management, asset performance optimisation, and long-term asset planning.
