Our team delivers perfectly ripened bananas and avocados to supermarket customers every day; on time, to specification, and without compromise.
About The Role
We're looking for an experienced Banana / Avocado Ripener to take full accountability for one of our ripening programmes at Eastern Creek; from receipt of hard, unripe fruit through to dispatch of shelf ready avocados that consistently meet the highest specifications. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll be tasked with setting the standard for quality, consistency and on time delivery every shift.
This is a hands‑on specialist role suited to someone who knows banana / avocado physiology inside out, takes pride in precision ripening room management, and won't settle for 'good enough.'
What You'll Do
- Plan and run daily ripening programmes in line with customer demand and dispatch requirements
- Assess incoming stock for firmness, maturity and condition, and determine the best ripening approach for each consignment
- Manage ripening room schedules,
conditions & temperature across every active ripening cycle
- Maintain accurate door cards, ripening boards, and quality/food-safety documentation
- Oversee correct labelling, sequencing and dispatch of stock to major supermarket specifications
- Lead and coach Assistant Ripeners, and step up for the Operations Manager when required
- Champion food safety and WHS standards across the site
About You
- Ideally 3-5 years experience in banana / avocado ripening operations, including ripening room management
- Experience working to major supermarket or major retailer ripening specifications
- Current Forklift Licence (LF class) and current open Driver's Licence (C class)
- Comfortable working varied shifts including early mornings, weekends and public holidays
- Full working rights in Australia
