About the Role

As a Youth Residential Care Worker, you'll provide day‑to‑day support to children and young people in a residential care setting, helping them develop independence, build positive relationships and achieve their goals.

Duties

- Providing therapeutic support in a home-like setting
- Assisting with daily living activities and life skills
- Building positive, professional relationships with young people
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Transporting young people to school, appointments and community activities
- Administering medication where required and appropriately trained
- Completing case notes, progress reports and incident documentation
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
- Maintaining a safe,



supportive and nurturing environment

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Flexibility to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including weekends, sleepovers, active nights and public holidays

Essential Requirements

- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Community Services or a related qualification (or currently studying a relevant qualification)
- Current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- Current Queensland Driver Licence
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Full Australian working rights
