Are you a multi-skilled maintenance skilled or trade-qualified individual looking for a stable, Monday-to-Friday role? We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented Building Caretaker / Maintenance Person to oversee the day-to-day upkeep, minor repairs, and general presentation of a premium residential property in the vibrant heart of Newstead.

This is a diverse role ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoying a mix of hands-on technical repairs, property oversight, and maintaining the pristine aesthetic appeal of the building's common spaces and grounds.

Key Responsibilities

- Routine & Preventive Maintenance: Attend to daily maintenance requests, troubleshooting, and general handyperson tasks (eg minor carpentry, painting touch-ups, basic plumbing, and hardware repairs).

- Cleaning & Presentation: Perform minor cleaning duties to ensure common areas, entryways, and facilities are kept to an exceptionally high, welcoming standard.

- Gardening Upkeep: Undertake minor gardening duties (such as watering, light pruning, weeding, and keeping outdoor pathways explicit) to maintain the property's curb appeal.

- Property Inspections: Conduct regular walk-throughs to identify maintenance issues, safety hazards, and areas requiring attention.





- Contractor Management: Coordinate, schedule, and supervise specialized external contractors (such as electricians, lift technicians, and fire service teams) ensuring minimal disruption to residents.

- Essential Services Compliance: Assist with building compliance, fire safety checks, and maintaining accurate service logs.

What We Are Looking For

- Trade Background Preferred: A background or qualification in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or a related trade is highly advantageous.

- Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience in building caretaker, facilities maintenance, or handyperson roles (residential high-rise or commercial experience is a major plus).

- All-Rounder Mindset: Willingness to look after the property holistically, comfortably balancing technical maintenance with everyday cleaning and gardening touch-ups.

- Problem Solver: A practical, proactive mindset with the ability to diagnose issues and implement effective, high-quality solutions.

- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with a polite, professional manner when interacting with residents, body corporate members, and contractors.
