Senior Geologist / Senior Project Geologist - Porphyry Copper

We are partnering with a growing exploration company holding one of the largest tenement positions in New South Wales, with additional ground recently secured in South Australia and further exploration planned in the Northern Territory. Currently mid-way through an active porphyry copper drilling campaign, they are preparing to ramp up hiring for senior exploration roles in the coming months.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Exploration Manager, you will play a key role in the delivery of active drilling programs on porphyry copper targets across New South Wales, with the program expected to extend into IOCG targets in the Northern Territory and South Australia. This role starts as a short-term contract (approximately 3-4 months, through to the end of the year), with strong potential to extend or convert to a permanent position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and support delivery of porphyry copper drilling programs across NSW
- Contribute to planning and execution of exploration programs extending into IOCG targets in the NT and SA
- Oversee day-to-day geological operations, including logging, sampling, and data QA/QC
- Interpret drilling and exploration results to inform ongoing targeting
- Coordinate field logistics and liaise with contractors and field teams
- Report directly to the Exploration Manager on project progress and technical findings
- Ensure exploration activities are carried out safely and in line with regulatory requirements

About You





Qualifications & Experience

- Degree in Geology or related discipline
- Experience at Senior Geologist / Senior Project Geologist level
- Porphyry copper exploration experience strongly preferred
- Experience with IOCG-style targets advantageous
- Comfortable working a 16/12 roster

Technical Skills

- Strong core logging, sampling and geological data management skills
- Ability to interpret drilling results and contribute to exploration targeting
- Experience coordinating field programs and contractor teams

Personal Attributes

- Based anywhere on the east coast, with Sydney, NSW preferred
- Willingness to travel across NSW, NT and SA project areas
- Strong communication skills, comfortable reporting directly to senior management
- Self-motivated and adaptable, able to work effectively in a growing exploration team

Location

Open to candidates based anywhere on the east coast, with Sydney, NSW preferred to minimise travel. Projects are located across New South Wales, the Northern Territory and South Australia. Western Australia-based candidates are not preferred for this role.
