About the Role
As the Industry Liaison Officer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining relationships with employers, industry partners, registered training organisations (RTOs), universities, and community stakeholders.
You will work collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, students, and families to support career education and transition pathways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain solid partnerships with local businesses, industry groups, training organisations, and community stakeholders.
- Identify and coordinate opportunities for student work experience, school-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SATs), vocational placements, and industry engagement activities.
- Support the implementation of career development programs and pathway planning initiatives with students.
- Promote Bellbird Park State Secondary College as a preferred partner for workforce and industry engagement.
- Assist students in exploring career pathways, training options, and employment opportunities.
- Organise industry visits, guest speakers, career expos, and transition events.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting related to partnerships, placements, and student outcomes.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to align industry engagement activities with curriculum and vocational education programs.
- Ensure compliance with departmental policies, workplace health and safety requirements, and risk management processes.
About You:
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working with industry, education, training, employment services, or community organisations.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A commitment to supporting young people to achieve positive educational and employment outcomes.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a school environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in vocational education and training (VET), career development, recruitment, employment services, workforce development, or industry engagement.
- Knowledge of school-based apprenticeships and traineeships, work experience programs, and post-school pathways.
- Understanding of the local labour market and emerging industry trends.
- Current Queensland Driver Licence.
