Job Description

Ready to step in and transform a payroll function? This is a rare opportunity to join a growing business on Sydney’s Lower North Shore and lead apayroll review/ transformation project from the ground up.

Working closely with the CFO, you’ll conduct a comprehensive review of the payroll function across systems, processes, controls, and people before designing and implementing a smarter, more efficient future-state payroll operation.

This is far more than BAU payroll. It’s a genuine transformation assignment where your expertise, recommendations, and leadership will directly shape the future of the function.

Key responsibilities include:

- Reviewing payroll processes, controls & workflows to identify risks and inefficiencies
- Assessing the capability and structure of the payroll team
- Evaluating payroll & TA systems for functionality, scalability & optimisation opportunities




- Leading transformation initiatives and implementing meaningful operational improvements
- Managing a fortnightly payroll of approximately 300 employees
- Overseeing one offshore Payroll Officer

We’re looking for a hands-on Payroll transformation specialist with proven experience reviewing and improving payroll functions within small to medium-sized businesses. You’ll be commercially minded, solutions-focused, and confident in leading change in a payroll setting.

The assignment is expected to last anywhere between 3 and 6 months, possibly longer. A daily rate between $700 and $800 per day is on offer, depending on your previous experience. Hybrid working arrangements are on offer, but please note that remote work is not an option.
