About the role
We are seeking a Dentist with special interest in Paediatric Dentistry or a Specialist Paediatric Dentist to join our team on a part-time basis (or full time) at our practice in Maroochydore, QLD 4558. This is an excellent opportunity for a dentist or a specialist who is passionate about working with children and young people, and who wants to develop or strengthen their knowledge in paediatric dentistry. You will be providing high-quality dental care to our paediatric patients in a supportive, modern clinical environment. This role offers the flexibility of part-time work whilst allowing you to contribute significantly to the oral health and wellbeing of our young patients.
Key responsibilities
- Providing comprehensive dental assessments, diagnosis and treatment for paediatric patients of varying ages and dental needs
- Delivering preventative dental care, including fluoride applications,
fissure sealants and oral health education tailored to children
- Performing restorative dental procedures such as fillings, pulp treatments and extractions for paediatric patients
- Managing child behaviour in the dental setting through evidence-based techniques and a supportive approach
- Communicating effectively with parents and guardians regarding treatment plans, oral hygiene practices and long-term dental health strategies
- Maintaining accurate clinical notes and ensuring comprehensive, timely documentation of all patient interactions and treatments
- Working collaboratively with dental hygienists, dental assistants and other team members to ensure seamless patient care
- Staying current with best practice guidelines in paediatric dentistry and engaging in ongoing professional development
- Contributing to a positive, supportive practice culture that prioritises patient safety and clinical excellence
What we are looking for
- A registered dentist or a Specialist with a current dental practising certificate recognised in Australia
- Demonstrated experience or special interest in paediatric dentistry, with strong knowledge of child development and behaviour management techniques
- A commitment to preventative dentistry and evidence-based clinical practice
- Excellent communication skills, particularly with children and their families
- Strong clinical skills in restorative and preventative dental procedures
- A patient-centred approach and genuine enthusiasm for working with children and young people
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary dental team
- Professional attitude with a commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical practice and patient care
- Willingness to engage in professional development and stay current with paediatric dentistry advances
- Preferred: postgraduate qualifications, training or further study in paediatric dentistry (such as a Diploma or Master's degree), but not a must.
