About the Role:
Our client, an environmental company, are looking for a Trade Assistant (with a HR/MR Truck license) to join their team to perform basic maintenance and inspection of sewer mains, pipes, tanks, water and waste servicing stations. Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 8–10-hour shifts. This is a consistent, casual full time position with a strong possibility of transitioning into a permanent position within 6-12 months of starting.
As a Trade Assistant the work requires you to complete a variety of duties that include but are not limited to:
- Enter confined spaces and pipes through a small hatch
- Work with piping, various tools, equipment and machinery
- Perform basic maintenance and inspection of sewer mains, pipes, tanks, water and waste servicing stations
- Operating pipe CCTV equipment
- Driving of company vehicles
- General labouring duties
Skills and experience you need to be successful for this role:
- No direct experience is necessary, although experience in any of the following fields would be highly regarded: waste management, pipe laying, labourer, tradesman, construction, maintenance, landscaper, plumber
- A current White Card
- A current driver's licence (a MR or HR licence would be very highly regarded)
- High attention to detail
- A positive attitude
- A strong work ethic and strong reliability
