The Opportunity

This is a newly created role reporting directly to the Group CEO. You'll work alongside the CEO as a genuine thought partner on people strategy, and coach approximately 30 people leaders - Regional Managers, Venue Managers and Assistant Managers - to lead their teams with clarity, purpose and genuine care.

That means real coaching conversations - not performance management paperwork. It means helping leaders understand what their own behaviour drives in their team, and what that team’s experience creates for guests. And it means bringing genuine commercial acumen to every conversation, connecting people development to the metrics that matter.

You'll partner with our external IR/ER advisory firm on employment relations matters, and work with the Finance team who manage payroll - leaving you focused on the coaching and capability work where you'll have the greatest impact.





Success in this role will see you …

- Coaching people leaders to build genuine people-leadership capability, focusing on real connection and positive impact through growth, development and engagement.
- Partnering with leaders to embed development and growth pathways for their teams, supporting effective resourcing strategies, retention and succession across the group.
- Delivering trusted advice to the Group CEO, bringing a clear, commercially grounded point of view on people strategy, culture, risk and workforce priorities.
- Working closely with the Group’s external IR/ER advisory partner and supporting people leaders when needed to translate advice into practical action.
- Partnering closely with the Group Finance and payroll function to ensure people movements, people data, role changes and remuneration strategy align with agreed workforce priorities.
- Translating people initiatives into commercial outcomes, connecting employee experience and wellbeing to customer experience, retention, productivity and wage cost effectiveness.
- Building rapport and credibility across a diverse, dispersed leadership group,



adapting your style to create solid working relationships while remaining consistent in your standards, true to your values and those of the organisation.

What we are looking for

- A coach at heart - you know how to build trust quickly, hold direct conversations and help leaders strengthen their leadership and move forward, without doing the work for them.
- Commercially grounded - you understand that in a customer-facing business, employee experience, labour cost, productivity and guest experience are deeply connected - and you can help leaders see that connection without reducing it to a spreadsheet.
- Self-directed - you read situations and create momentum without waiting for a detailed brief.
- Values-aligned - you believe in commercial success, enabling people to thrive and genuine social responsibility, and you don't see these as competing priorities.
- Relevant experience and qualifications in any of the following: coaching, psychology, leadership, or HR.
- Working knowledge of People and Culture practices (incl. operational HR and employment law knowledge)
- Experience creating positive impact as a trusted advisor and/or coach to Senior Leaders
- Based in Canberra with the ability to travel to our regional NSW venues
