Painter (Full-Time) - Saints of Paint Pty Ltd, Wentworth Point NSW
Saints of Paint Pty Ltd is a painting and decorating business based in Wentworth Point, New South Wales, providing professional residential and commercial painting services across Sydney. We are currently seeking an experienced Painter to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for surface preparation, applying paints and coatings, carrying out finishing work, and ensuring all projects are completed to a high standard while complying with workplace safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, filling holes and cracks, and removing old paint or coatings.
- Apply paints, varnishes, stains, sealants, and protective coatings to interior and exterior surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Mix and match paints and coatings to achieve required colours, finishes, and project specifications.
- Read and interpret work instructions, plans, and project requirements to ensure accurate completion of painting works.
- Carry out painting, decorating, and finishing work on residential and commercial properties to a high standard.
- Erect and safely use ladders,
scaffolding, and other access equipment where required.
- Inspect completed work to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with project specifications.
- Identify surface defects and determine appropriate preparation and treatment methods.
- Maintain painting tools, equipment, and materials in secure and operational condition.
- Monitor material usage and assist with ordering and stock control of painting supplies.
- Ensure all work is completed within required timeframes while maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain clean and organised work areas throughout all stages of projects.
- Comply with workplace health and safety requirements, safe work procedures, and industry regulations.
- Liaise professionally with clients, supervisors, contractors, and other trades as required.
- Assist in training and supporting apprentices or junior workers when necessary.
What We're Looking For
- Relevant qualification in painting and decorating, construction, or a related field.
- Minimum one year of relevant experience as a Painter or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation methods, coatings, and finishing processes.
- Experience working on residential and commercial painting projects.
- Ability to interpret work instructions and project specifications.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
