Inventory Controller – FMCG Food manufacturing

My client is a Brisbane based FMCG manufacturing business, headquartered in Murarrie. The company has an enviable reputation for quality products, state of the art manufacturing and supplies ingredients and flavour systems to food manufacturers and retail customers across Australia and internationally. They are a small, energetic, quality focused and fun team poised for further growth, and they are looking for a proactive, hands-on Inventory Controller to join their team in this newly created role.

Based in Murarrie and reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for keeping stock moving accurately and efficiently through their warehouse network. The role covers the end-to-end flow of inventory: raising purchase orders, managing supplier relationships, receipting inbound goods, maintaining stock records in Tencia ERP, coordinating stock movements across the warehouse, and supporting the stocktake program. Essential is your ability to place orders and follow up, cycle counts and stocktakes.

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a rapid-moving manufacturing environment, takes personal ownership of stock accuracy, and builds effective working relationships with both suppliers and internal teams. Career progression is very realistic.

Key duties will include:

- Raise purchase orders in the ERP system
- Analyse the re-order and demand report to identify replenishment requirements, determining order quantities
- Confirm supplier receipt and acknowledgement of each purchase order raised, following up promptly where an order confirmation is not received to secure delivery dates.
- Liaise with suppliers on order status,

delivery scheduling, lead times, and any supply issues, escalating risks to the Supply Chain Manager as required.
- Perform goods receipt processing in the ERP system, ensuring inbound stock is receipted accurately against purchase orders and any discrepancies are raised with the supplier promptly.
- Reconcile received deliveries against the originating purchase order and system receipt, verifying quantities and condition and clearing or escalating short, over, damaged, or incorrect deliveries before the receipt is finalised.

Inventory Accuracy & Stock Management

- Maintain accurate stock-on-hand records in ERP across all warehouse locations, including on-site and off-site holdings.
- Ensure all stock movements, transfers, adjustments, and write-offs are posted
- Monitor inventory data integrity on an ongoing basis, identifying and resolving discrepancies between physical stock and system records promptly.

Stocktake Support

- Support the Supply Chain team in executing the full and cyclical stocktake program across all warehouse locations in accordance with the group's Inventory Management Policy.
- Assist with preparation of count sheets and management of the freeze and post process in Tencia, ensuring counts are completed within the required window and posted before month-end close.

Reporting & Finance Support

- Assist the Supply Chain Manager in collating inventory movement reports, variance analysis, and supporting schedules for month-end close and board reporting, prior to the Supply Chain Manager's reconciliation and handover to the Head of Finance.

Systems & Process Improvement

S&OP; and ITP Program Support

- Minimum 3 years' experience in an inventory control, purchasing, or supply chain role in a manufacturing, FMCG, or food production environment.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain effective relationships through application of communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience raising purchase orders and liaising directly with suppliers on order management, delivery coordination, and discrepancy resolution.
- Competent ERP user with hands-on experience in purchasing, inventory, and goods receipt modules, including Tencia, SAP, MYOB Advanced, NetSuite, or equivalent.
- Strong working knowledge of inventory processes including stock transfers, write-offs, adjustments, and goods receipting.
- Demonstrated experience supporting stocktake programs
- Strong IT skills with a high attention to detail and demonstrated computer literacy and software skills to complete required tasks (Microsoft Office, Excel, BI, ERP System (JDE or similar)
- Direct experience with Tencia ERP — But NOT essential, any ERP experience is suitable
