The Prospect

PWR is currently looking for a Tool Maker to join us in our expansion into our brand-new facility.

This hands-on role is crucial to maintaining the precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures that support efficient and high-quality manufacturing operations. You’ll work closely with engineers, machinists, and production teams to build and maintain tooling that ensures consistent product output.

If you are passionate about precision engineering and thrive in a hands on, workshop environment then this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

- Manufacture, assemble, and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and moulds using conventional and CNC machining equipment.
- Interpret technical drawings,



CAD models, and specifications to build accurate and functional tooling components.
- SolidWorks experience would be highly regarded.
- Perform precision grinding, drilling, turning, and milling with high attention to tolerances and surface finishes.
- Ensure tool quality and dimensional accuracy through measurement and inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, CMMs).
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and improve tooling for new and existing products.
- Maintain and service tooling, ensuring it remains safe, efficient, and fit for production use.
- Identify tooling issues and contribute to root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Install and set manufacturing tooling

Your Skills and Experience

- Certificate III in Engineering – Toolmaking Trade or equivalent (apprenticeship preferred)
- Proven experience as a toolmaker in a precision manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in using manual and CNC machines, lathes, grinders, and EDM
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Solid understanding of materials and machining principles
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
