Team Leader Therapeutic Residential Care
Capability Clinical Services provides professional,client centred, trauma informed and compassionate support for children, youngpeople, and adults. Clinical Services offers face to face and telehealthcounselling and psychological interventions, assessments and Positive BehaviourSupport (PBS).
Reporting to the Lead Practitioner Therapeutic Residential Care andworking within the Capability Clinical Governance Framework, the Team Leader Therapeutic Residential Care provides senior clinical leadership withintherapeutic residential care placements. The role leads and supportstherapeutic specialists working in residential care, oversees therapeuticquality and clinical decision‑making, and contributes to the management ofcomplex and high‑risk presentations. The Team Leader bridges clinical and operationalpractice, ensuring therapeutic guidance is translated into daily care andsupport for children and young people. Working in close partnership with theOperations Manager, the role ensures trauma-informed, therapeutically alignedcare is consistently embedded across residential environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership to ensureethical, evidence‑based, trauma‑informed careacross therapeutic residential services.
- Lead and support therapeuticspecialists through supervision, reflective practice, and workforce capabilitydevelopment.
- Partner closely with the OperationalManager to align therapeutic intent with daily care delivery and operationalpractice and facilitate regular staff reflection sessions.
- Provide clinical oversight of supportplanning, risk management, and responses to complex or high‑riskpresentations.
- Contribute clinicalexpertise to incidents, governance processes, statutory engagement, and childsafety reporting.
- Promote consistent, culturally protected,child‑centred practice and continuous quality improvementacross services.
Key Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications andprofessional registration.
- Exemplify and model integrity,ethics, values and the desired cultural behaviours
- Experience in trauma and therapeuticresidential care.
- Operates well in diverse environmentsin school and residential settings
- Thrives on independence, innovationand system improvement
- Demonstrated senior clinicalleadership and supervision experience
- Solid expertise in trauma,attachment, and therapeutic residential care
- Ability to translate clinical modelsinto practical, daily care guidance
- High‑levelcommunication and collaboration skills
- Enjoys mentoring others and being akey player in a collegiate team
- Communicate complex matters withclarity and succinctness and in easy-to-understand formats and communicationmethods
- Current Working with VulnerablePeople registration, including NDIS screening, or capacity to gain this
- Current CYF clearance, or capacity togain this
- Current Police Check, or capacity toachieve this
- Current driver's license
- Roadworthy, registered and insuredvehicle

- Current First Aid and CPRcertification
