Armajun Aboriginal Health Service is looking to recruit a full-time;

Drug and Alcohol Clinician

There is currently an opportunity for a full-time, Drug and Alcohol Clinician, to join our team. The Drug and Alcohol Clinician will be based in our Armidale Clinic. The aim of the position is to;

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, culturally safe, and holistic primary health care to clients experiencing alcohol and other drug dependency. Operating from a person-cantered, harm-minimisation framework, the Clinician provides clinical assessment, withdrawal management, pharmacotherapy support, education, and case management, while actively collaborating with visiting Addictions Specialists, GPs, and Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) caseworkers.

Selection Criteria

- Tertiary level qualifications in nursing, social work, counselling, or other relevant degree.




- Holds current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) where appropriate and hold post-graduate qualifications and/or significant experience in Drug and Alcohol, Counselling, Mental Health, or Primary Health Care nursing.
- Has received Cultural awareness training in the last two years
- Demonstrated continuous development of skilled competence and qualifications.
- Sound knowledge of community health, public health and Aboriginal Health.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with all levels of a multidisciplinary team and to work within a framework of intersectoral collaboration.
- Ability to hold all relevant security clearances including National Police Check and Working with Children clearance
- Identify as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander* and be an active member within your community;
