About the role

Make a meaningful impact on Aboriginal health across the North Coast. As Associate Director, Aboriginal Health Partnerships, you will lead strategic initiatives, strengthen partnerships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), and drive the delivery of culturally appropriate health programs that improve outcomes for Aboriginal communities. This is a unique prospect to influence system-wide change, lead a passionate team, and work collaboratively to create lasting improvements in health and wellbeing across the region.

About you

To excel in this position, you will have and / or bring:

Identify as an Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander person and are accepted as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander by their local community including an understanding of Aboriginal cultural protocols and Aboriginal community dynamics.

In-depth understanding and awareness of social determinants of health and key issues impacting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living on the North Coast of NSW.





Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) and other Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal stakeholders.

Strong engagement, communication and people leadership skills with the ability to manage, develop, support and coach people to achieve success.

Extensive program management experience including program design, planning, delivery, managing timelines, milestones, risk, management with a proven ability to engage and support ACCHOs and Aboriginal communities in the design, implementation, and evaluation of health programs.

Ability to utilise data and evidence to drive change and advancement while working with stakeholders to determine required outcomes, identify trends, gaps, and emerging issues through research from critical sources of information, including databases, literature, statistical information, allied agencies, community leaders, frameworks, reports and best practice.

Extensive experience in the development and execution of health commissioning (procurement, contract management and evaluation), ensuring commissioned services effectively address the unique needs and health priorities of Aboriginal communities.

Considerable experience in influencing a business unit or functional area.

Knowledge of and commitment to Work Health and Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, Cultural Safety, and continuous improvement principles.
