Holistic Care Therapy is a rapidly growing, NDIS-registered allied health provider committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred services across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, the Hunter, Central Coast and surrounding regions.
Due to continued growth and a strong referral base, we are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team as an independent contractor.
This role is ideal for an Occupational Therapist who enjoys working with complex presentations, values clinical autonomy, and is passionate about making meaningful outcomes for participants across the lifespan.

About the Role
As a experienced Occupational Therapist, you will work with children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of disabilities and complex support needs.
You will be responsible for completing high-quality assessments and providing evidence-based recommendations that assist participants to maximise independence, safety and quality of life.
Your caseload may include participants with:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Intellectual Disability
- Psychosocial Disability
- Acquired Brain Injury
- Neurological Conditions
- Physical Disabilities
- Complex Behaviour Support Needs
- Rare genetic syndromes and complex medical conditions
Your Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA)
- Conduct Assistive Technology (AT) Assessments (low and complex where appropriate)
- Complete Home and Living Assessments
- Recommend equipment and environmental modifications
- Develop high-quality NDIS reports that support participant goals and funding outcomes
- Work collaboratively with families, support coordinators, behaviour support practitioners, speech pathologists, psychologists, physiotherapists and other stakeholders
- Provide participant-centred intervention and recommendations
- Manage your own diary with flexible scheduling
About You
You are an experienced Occupational Therapist who:
- Has extensive experience completing Functional Capacity Assessments
- Is confident undertaking Assistive Technology Assessments
- Enjoys working with complex participants across all age groups
- Has excellent clinical reasoning and report writing skills
- Works collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Is organised, proactive and self-motivated
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Is passionate about delivering quality outcomes rather than having to meet KPIs
Essential Requirements
- AHPRA Registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Minimum 3 years' experience working within the NDIS (highly regarded)
- Demonstrated experience completing Functional Capacity Assessments
- Experience completing Assistive Technology AssessmentsCurrent Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Working With Children Check
- ABN, Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance (Admin support available to support this process for the right practitioner)
