About this role
The Clinical Genomics Specialist will be based in Sydney and is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and Key Opinion Leaders in Australia and internationally, while coordinating activities and developing strategies to increase revenues. As the key external face of AGRF with clinical genomic and clinical translational clients within the territory, you will be responsible for growing existing business, identifying, and bringing to fruition new opportunities, providing project management for key projects, supporting our clients and implementation of sales and marketing initiatives.
You will have a strong business development and collaboration focus, with a goal to strengthen existing relationships and develop networks within the public and private clinical genomics and translational space. An objective of this position is to establish AGRF as a valued long-term partner, while also coordinating activities and developing strategies to increase revenues through increased uptake of AGRF services.
This role requires field interactions at the client site and attendance of conferences, workshops, seminars, and other events as needed with office time required for preparing quotes and other administration tasks.
What you’ll need to succeed:
ESSENTIAL
- Strong understanding of the genomics and genetic testing market, client base and value drivers
- Degree in Molecular Biology or related field
- 5+ years sales and client management experience or equivalent
- Strong networks in facilitating collaborations and partnerships in one or more of the clinical, hospital, and translational sectors
- Highly motivated, can demonstrate leadership, strategic planning, and teamwork, with strong project management skills
- Proven ability to build relationships at all levels within organisations
- Excellent presentation and communication skills (both verbal and written) at all business levels
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to travel (approximately 20% of the time)
- Driver’s licence and own car required
- Some work outside business hours may be required
DESIRABLE
- Valuable knowledge and use of CRM platforms
- PhD qualified in Molecular Biology and Genomics Applications
