Maintenance Fitter / Technician Day Shift Wetherill Park Location
Our client is a National Leader leading manufacturer of surfactants and supplier of phosphates in the Australian market. Our comprehensive product range services the industrial, construction, mining, food and household & personal care markets.
We’re currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter for site-based work for the Wetherill Park Facility.
This is a hands‑on role supporting the ongoing reliability and performance of critical plant equipment, If you're the right fit, this opportunity will become permanent.
Position Brief Below:
- MONDAY TO FRIDAY WORK
- WETHERILL PARK LOCATION
- OCCASIONAL OVERTIME WHERE REQUIRED
- 7am – 3pm
- $60.30 per hour + overtime rates if required
- Temp to Permanent Chance
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform fault finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance on rotating equipment including pumps, gearboxes, motors, agitators, and blowers
- Interpret mechanical drawings and manuals to carry out accurate maintenance
- Use of CMMS (preferably MEX) to manage maintenance tasks and records
- Ensure all work is carried out safely, particularly around chemicals, confined spaces, and moving machinery
- Trade qualification: Mechanical engineering or maintenance fitter qualification together with relevant experience
- Qualified Mechanical Fitter or similar trade background
- Strong hands‑on experience with rotating equipment maintenance
- Exposure to preventative and predictive maintenance regimes
- Sound knowledge of safe work practices in industrial environments
- Competent using CMMS systems for tracking and reporting maintenance activities
- Background in chemical processing or high‑risk industrial environments
- Exposure to Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) and CI methodologies
- Basic welding skills (TIG, MIG, stick)
- Experience with shutdown/turnaround maintenance work
- Familiarity with LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and plant isolation procedures
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Trade qualification: Mechanical engineering or maintenance fitter qualification together with relevant experience
- Qualified Mechanical Fitter or similar trade background
- Strong hands‑on experience with rotating equipment maintenance
- Exposure to preventative and predictive maintenance regimes
- Sound knowledge of safe work practices in industrial environments
- Competent using CMMS systems for tracking and reporting maintenance activities
Desirable:
- Background in chemical processing or high‑risk industrial environments
- Exposure to Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) and CI methodologies
- Forklift Licence
- Basic welding skills (TIG, MIG, stick)
- Experience with shutdown/turnaround maintenance work
- Familiarity with LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and plant isolation procedures
