Hunter Sheetmetal is a locally owned sheet metal business based in Maryland, working alongside our sister company Hunter HVAC. Together, we deliver high-quality ductwork and HVAC solutions across Newcastle, the Hunter, Central Coast, and Northern NSW.

About the Role
We're growing, and we're not too fussed on exactly what that looks like. We might take on one person, or a few. It depends on who walks through the door.
We manufacture custom HVAC ductwork and sheet metal components for commercial and industrial projects. You'll fabricate ductwork and sheet metal from drawings and specifications, producing quality work that's installed on projects across the region.
Our workshop runs a CNC pre-insulated duct board cutting machine, CNC laser cutter and CNC plasma cutter. Experience with CNC or automated machinery is a bonus, but if you've got the right attitude and solid skills, we're happy to show you the ropes.
Here's roughly who we're after:
- The all-rounder — experienced and can do the lot. Fabricate HVAC ductwork and sheet metal from drawings and specs, jump on whatever the day needs, and do it well.
- The lagger — maybe you're earlier in your career, or you just love lagging and want to do it day in, day out. That suits us fine. We'll keep you busy.
- The step-up — more experienced and ready to help lead the crew. You'll mentor the others and help keep the workshop running smoothly.
The Hours
Our full-time team works Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm. Early starts mean early finishes, so you've got plenty of afternoon left for life outside work.

We’re looking for:
- Trade-qualified (ideal for the all-rounder and step-up; for laggers we're open to less experience)
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication and/or ductwork manufacturing
- Reliable and team-focused
- Able to read technical drawings and meet deadlines
- CNC, Multicam or automated sheet metal machinery experience preferred but not essential
- A current white card and the right to work in Australia
