Verve Partners are proud to be supporting a respected regional council in appointing an Finance Business Partner to support strategic decision-making through timely, accurate financial analysis and reporting.

As part of a collaborative finance team, you’ll work closely with both internal stakeholders and senior finance leaders, providing insights that directly impact operations and community services.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner with departments across the organisation to provide practical financial advice and support.
- Prepare accurate internal financial reports, management analysis and meaningful commentary.
- Lead annual budgeting activities and support ongoing quarterly forecasting.
- Assist with general ledger reconciliations, financial controls and statutory reporting requirements.
- Analyse complex financial information and develop tailored reports to support decision-making.
- Support and mentor finance team members while driving improvements across systems and processes.

Skills and Experience

- Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong capability across budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and data analysis
- Experience in local government, the public sector or another complex, compliance-focused workplace would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Strong Microsoft Office and financial systems skills, particularly in reporting and analysis.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly and influence stakeholders.
