About the role

We are looking for a passionate Apprentice Pastry Chef to be a member ofour kitchen team!

Working on a mix of high tea (sweet and savoury) and high end event dessert prep - with the occasional client tasting evening thrown in (monthly but rotated between the team) - you will get to enjoy real variety.

Enjoy the variety includingchocolate work, using the blast chiller to play with different layered items, gels and glazes, moulded petit four style cakes etc. We are proud of what we produce and know anyone joining who is passionate about their craft will love ittoo.

It's important to mention that we do big numbers - so whilst each item is handmade, we make them in big quantities. You could be making tarts 300 at a time, or slab cakes 10 at time.

We'vehad some real fun experimenting with different ingredients and techniques to offer not only the traditional items but also full Vegan, Diary/Gluten/Nut free options to suit everyone...

This role is perfect for a junior pastry chef who is looking to gain experience and develop their skills within an experienced and busy kitchen.

Location & Rosters

Located centrally in the QVB Building in the CBD, we are an easy stroll to all modes of public transport.

This is a full time role, working a 5 day roster - with the shifts being mostly days. Examples of shifts might be earliest 6am - 2pm or 9am to 5pm.

Skills and experience

- Great organisational skills with an acute attention to detail

- Must have the Rights to Work in Australia Full-Time

- Works willingly as part of the team to ensure services are of a high standard.

- Passionate for pasty items and continuous improvement

- Qualified (or enrolled apprentice) in patisserie or commercial cooking

- Has a positive, professional attitude.

- Ability to work in a team
