Role Description The GP Skin Cancer doctor will provide in office clinical services at Ranges Medical in New Gisborne, VIC, with a primary focus on skin cancer assessment, diagnosis, and management.
Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting comprehensive skin checks using Fotofinder technology, performing biopsies, surgical procedures and developing evidence-based treatment, patient education and follow-up plans.
The role involves collaborating closely with practice nurses and other clinicians.
The doctor will contribute to clinical documentation, quality improvement activities, and may participate in the supervision and mentoring of GP registrars and medical students in skin cancer and general practice care.




QualificationsStrong clinical skills in General Practice Medicine, with demonstrated additional experience in skin cancer detection, diagnosis, and management.Experience in Primary Care settings, delivering comprehensive, continuity-based care and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.Ability to work effectively with Nursing staff in team-based care.Interest and capability in Training, including teaching, supervising, or mentoring GP registrars and medical students.Relevant medical degree and current registration (or eligibility for registration) with appropriate medical boards; fellowship in general practice or progress toward fellowship highly regarded.Proficiency in minor surgical procedures, dermoscopy, and the use of digital imaging technologies like FotoFinder for skin cancer assessment.Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient-centered communication, and culturally secure, non-discriminatory care for diverse populations.Willingness to participate in ongoing career development and quality improvement initiatives within the practice.
