For Purpose Aged Care is seeking a full-time Gardener/Maintenance Officer to join our brand new South Bunbury residence, scheduled to open in November 2026. This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in establishing and shaping service delivery from the ground up, while contributing to the future of For Purpose Aged Care during a period of significant change and innovation within the aged care sector.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Officer/Gardener to assist in maintaining the building and grounds of this brand new, state of the art building to a high standard, having regard for the comfort and wellbeing of residents and advising on replacement or repairs as required. You will also have close support from the Maintenance Manager WA and GM Property Services.

Skills and Requirements for this Role:

To be successful in this position you will be able to demonstrate the following:

- Experience in gardening, landscaping and building maintenance
- Knowledge of Aged Care industry is desirable
- Thorough understanding of all legislative requirements pertaining to maintenance and repairs i.e. OH&S; & Fire/Evacuation
- Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks including use of tools and equipment
- Willingness to be contribute to after-hours maintenance requirements from time to time
- Excellent communication skills and respect for residents and colleagues
- Previous experience working autonomously with limited direction




- Be able to make decisions about costs and priorities and documenting a full plan for work to be completed
- Supervise and monitor grounds and systems
- Contribute to the support of aged care residents by providing quality service as required, and with respect to dignity and privacy.

Essential:

- Valid WA drivers license
- Reliable, strong work ethic
- Valid police check, less than 12 months old

Preferred:

- Trade Qualification e.g. Landscaping, B Grade Electrician & OHS Qualification is advantageous
