Our client is a well-established, purpose-driven community services organisation supporting vulnerable individuals and families across Queensland and South Australia. With a workforce of approximately 100 employees and multiple locations across Brisbane and Adelaide, they are known for delivering high-quality services, maintaining strong accountability and achieving meaningful outcomes for the communities they serve. About the Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO, a highly experienced leader who is deeply invested in developing organisational capability, this newly available role offers the opportunity to lead the organisation’s People and Culture function while partnering closely with leaders across the business.

With strong HR foundations already in place and external support for more complex people and WH&S; matters, your focus will be on supporting and developing frontline leaders, enhancing people processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring the organisation continues to deliver exceptional outcomes for both employees and clients. You will also lead one interstate team member and work to support staff across multiple locations throughout Brisbane and Adelaide.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Partnering with leaders across the organisation to provide practical HR and WHS advice, coaching and support across the full employee lifecycle;
- Coaching and developing frontline managers to build leadership capability,



navigate people challenges and create high-performing teams;
- Managing employee relations matters including performance management, grievances, complaints and workplace investigations with a balanced and pragmatic approach;
- Leading recruitment and workforce initiatives, partnering with hiring managers to attract, engage and retain quality talent across a diverse workforce;
- Overseeing workers compensation, return-to-work and injury management processes while supporting leaders to achieve positive outcomes for employees;
- Driving continuous improvement across HR and WHS policies, procedures, systems and compliance activities, ensuring alignment with legislative requirements and best practice; and
- Utilising people metrics and insights to inform decision-making, contribute to organisational projects and support ongoing improvements in engagement, culture and performance.

About You

You are a hands-on HR professional who thrives in environments where relationships matter, leaders value partnership and no task is considered beneath anyone. Comfortable operating autonomously, you bring a collaborative approach, strong judgement and a genuine desire to help managers and employees succeed. To be successful, you will bring:

- Demonstrated experience in a generalist HR or People & Culture role, ideally within community services, healthcare,



human services or similarly complex environments (though this is not essential);
- Strong capability across employee relations, performance management, coaching, workforce planning and organisational development;
- Experience supporting or managing workers compensation, return-to-work and injury management processes, or a desire to learn;
- Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation, modern awards and HR best practice;
- The ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of an organisation;
- Robust organisational skills, attention to detail and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and manage both strategic and operational responsibilities;
- Relevant qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Workplace Relations or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience; and
- A values-driven, resilient and adaptable approach, with a genuine passion for supporting leaders and enabling frontline service delivery.
