New Home Care Pty Ltd is an approved aged care provider delivering services under the Support at Home program. We are committed to providing high-quality, compliant and person-centred services to older Australians. Due to continued business growth, we are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team.

About the Role

The Assistant Accountant will work under the supervision of the Accountant and provide day-to-day support with claims, billing, invoice processing, reconciliations and general finance administration.

This role is suitable for someone with a good accounting foundation, strong attention to detail and an interest in developing experience in aged care finance.

Training in Support at Home claims, internal systems and company procedures will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with Support at Home claims, client billing and invoice processing
- Process supplier invoices and prepare payment batches for approval
- Complete routine bank, supplier and account reconciliations
- Check supporting documents and follow up missing information
- Assist with accounts receivable, payment allocation and outstanding balances
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing
- Liaise with Care Partners regarding billing or documentation discrepancies
- Provide general accounting and administrative support to the Accountant

About You

Essential Criteria

- Diploma or degree in Accounting,



Finance or a related discipline
- At least one year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or finance administration
- Strong attention to detail and basic reconciliation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience using Xero, MYOB or a similar accounting system
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Fluency in one of the following languages: Mandarin, Cantonese or Korean
- Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality
- Full Australian working rights

Desirable Criteria

- Experience in aged care, healthcare, disability services or another government-funded sector
- Knowledge of the Support at Home program
- Experience with claims, client billing or supplier payments
- Experience working in a multicultural organisation
- Aged care experience is highly regarded but is not essential. Training will be provided to a suitable candidate.
