About the role
We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Venue / Club Manager to lead the clubhouse operation and help shape the future direction of the club. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of the clubhouse.
Reporting to the Board through the Club President, you will work closely with club leadership to deliver the agreed strategic direction, improve operational performance and identify opportunities to grow revenue, membership and community engagement. You will also lead and support key direct reports, including the Bar Manager,
Accounts Clerk and Media Manager.
Key responsibilities
Strategic leadership
- Work with the Board to deliver the club's strategic and business plans
- Support marketing, sponsorship and wider business growth initiatives
- Grow functions, corporate bookings and overall clubhouse patronage
Financial management
- Manage budgets, expenditure and financial performance across clubhouse operations
- Oversee stock control, cash handling and banking reconciliations.
- Process payroll for all staff across the organisation
- Provide accurate reporting while ensuring compliance with financial policies and delegations
Operations and compliance
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the bar, gaming, bistro, functions and administration areas
- Maintain effective systems, records and solid relationships with staff, caterers and partners
- Ensure compliance with all relevant club, gaming, liquor, catering and WHS requirements
Governance, risk and people leadership
- Strengthen policies, procedures, internal controls and risk management practices
- Monitor regulatory changes and update processes as required
- Lead recruitment, training and workforce planning while fostering a high-performing team culture
Member and guest experience
- Deliver a positive and professional experience for members, guests and visitors
- Build strong relationships with staff, sponsors and community stakeholders
- Support initiatives that enhance service, engagement and the club’s local reputation
About you
You are a capable and hands-on leader with strong commercial, operational and people management skills, and the ability to work strategically with a Board.
You will ideally bring/be:
- Relevant management experience or qualifications in hospitality, business or a related field
- Strong financial, people leadership and operational management capability
- Excellent communication, organisation and conflict resolution skills
- Full Australian working rights
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft applications, Xero and POS systems
Desirable
- Knowledge of golf, ClubsNSW guidelines or multi-stream club operations
