We are seeking a qualified Electrician with proven experience in traffic signal infrastructure to join our growing team. This role involves Electrical and Civils installation, maintenance, fault finding, and commissioning of traffic signal systems in accordance with Victorian Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair traffic signal assets and associated infrastructure
- Install Traffic Signal Civils, Conduits, Pits, Foundations and associated infrastructure
- Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and emergency repairs
- Install and maintain SCTV (Closed Circuit Television), STCE (Signal Traffic Control Equipment), and STS (Signal Timing Systems)
- Ensure all works comply with Vic DTP (formerly VicRoads) specifications and standards
- Interpret electrical schematics and traffic signal drawings
- Conduct testing and commissioning of signal and ITS equipment
- Maintain accurate service records and reporting
- Work safely in live traffic environments,
adhering to OH&S; requirements
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 4+ years’ experience as a qualified electrician, including traffic signals
- Current A-Grade Electrical Licence (Victoria)
- Demonstrated experience with:
- SCTV (Closed Circuit Television) systems
- STCE (Signal Traffic Control Equipment)
- STS (Signal Timing Systems)
- Sound understanding of Vic DTP / VicRoads standards and specifications
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Highly Desirable
- Traffic Signals accreditation or relevant competencies
- Experience with ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) infrastructure
- Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets
- Traffic Management tickets (e.g., Implement Traffic Control Plans)
- Ability to work on-call / after-hours when required
