About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Certificate III in Civil Construction Trainer and Assessor to join our team. In this role, you will deliver nationally recognised training and assessment to apprentices and civil construction workers, supporting the development of a skilled, safe and competent workforce across the civil, infrastructure, mining and construction industries.
Working closely with employers, supervisors and learners, you will deliver engaging training that combines practical, workplace-based learning with compliance to national training package requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and assess Certificate III in Civil Construction qualifications and associated units of competency.
- Facilitate classroom, workshop and workplace-based training and assessment.
- Conduct Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), Verification of Competency (VOC) and workplace assessments where applicable.
- Develop and maintain training and assessment resources in accordance with training package and RTO requirements.
- Maintain accurate student records, assessment evidence and compliance documentation.
- Coach and mentor apprentices and industry participants to support successful learning outcomes.
- Liaise with employers and supervisors to monitor learner progress and coordinate workplace training activities.
- Promote safe work practices and continuous improvement in all training and assessment activities.
About You
You are an experienced civil construction skilled with a passion for developing people and sharing your industry knowledge. You have strong communication skills,
enjoy mentoring others and are committed to delivering practical, high-quality training that meets industry and regulatory standards.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent that meets current regulatory requirements).
- Demonstrated experience in the civil construction industry.
- Relevant trade qualification, Certificate III or higher qualification in Civil Construction or a related discipline.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction practices, equipment and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with clients and industry stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience delivering qualifications from the Civil Construction Training Package.
- Experience conducting RPL and VOC assessments.
- Experience working within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Construction White Card.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Relevant mine site or major project inductions.
- Ability to travel to client sites or work FIFO rosters where required.
