About this role

In this full-time role, you will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the delivery of free surfing events for the neurodivergent community across Western Australia. The role will primarily be based in Perth with travel to regional communities across WA, from the South Coast and South-West, all the way up to Geraldton, Exmouth and Broome!

You will play a vital part in delivering events that support the wellbeing of people on the autism spectrum through surfing. We are looking for an enthusiastic, growth mindset, community orientated person to support the team deliver these events!

Core Purpose

Execute high-quality event delivery while supporting marketing, fundraising, volunteer management and stakeholder engagement.

What you’ll be doing

- Supporting the delivery of Ocean Heroes WA Free Events Program
- Assisting with management of the Ocean Heroes volunteer community
- Assisting with marketing, sponsorship, partnerships
- Meeting with key stakeholders in WA (Perth and regional areas)
- Assisting with organisation administration and operations
- Maintaining, purchasing, and managing equipment
- Other duties as required

Essential

- To demonstrate empathy and compassion towards volunteers, participants and families who attend Ocean Heroes Free Events program




- Competent and comfortable in the ocean and beach environment
- Direct surf culture experience
- Work well within a team setting
- To have flexibility around work times and locations
- To be able to travel for events and work weekends
- Hold a valid WA Working With Children Check (WWCC) and National Police clearance
- Hold a current WA driver’s license

Desirable

- Comfortable setting up and managing events
- Experience working within the NFP/charity sector
- Experience in fundraising, sponsorships & partnerships
- Core understanding of surfing culture is highly desirable
