About the role
The Clinical Facilitator is supported by the Education Coordinator, the Neonatal Clinical Education Team and is an integral part of the Neonatal Critical Care Unit. We are seeking motivated neonatal nurses with consolidated and recent Neonatal Critical Care experience who are interested in providing support and educational opportunities to graduate, novice and experienced staff within the Neonatal Critical Care Unit. This position is for nurses who are willing to challenge their own professional scope of practice in an education role, whilst further developing and supporting their team members in a best practice model of care. There is ample opportunity for initiative and innovation in education delivery within this team.
We currently have two 6 month, maximum-term contracts available:
- Clinical Facilitator - 0.4 FTE for clinicians with Cardiac Surgical experience
- Clinical Facilitator – 0.8 FTE for clinicians with Preterm Medical experience
This opportunity will encompass wide and diverse coordination, provision and monitoring of unit-based and organisation-wide education, including:
- Bedside clinical coaching
- Online learning support
- Mandatory adult and neonatal resuscitation assessments
- Revision and implementation of new policies and models of care
- Identification, implementation and evaluation of best practice models
- Assisting with development and facilitation of simulated learning opportunities
About you
To be successful in this position you will have:
- Current and unrestricted registration (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife
- Post graduate qualifications in the specialty Neonatology
- Post graduate qualifications in the relevant specialty (Education) or working towards same
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (current)
- Minimum of three (3) years post graduate cumulative clinical experience (clinical specialty desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in clinical facilitation and / or clinical supervision
- Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical education
