Beauty | Procurement | Commercial Strategy
Talent Lab Co is partnering with a fast‑scaling Australian beauty portfolio seeking a commercially astute Procurement Manager to lead supplier negotiations, optimise COGS across multiple brands, and shape procurement strategy at a commercial and strategic level.
This role sits at the intersection of commercial procurement, supplier management and category strategy, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast moving, agile environment and knows how to balance cost, quality and supply continuity.
About the Role
The Procurement Manager is a high‑impact commercial role where you’ll shape procurement strategy, negotiate with global suppliers, optimise COGS across multiple brands, and influence senior decision‑making. Perfect for someone who wants to step into a commercially strategic role with real ownership and visibility.
You’ll own procurement of all components required for production, lead supplier negotiations, manage cost‑down initiatives, and drive procurement roadmap. You’ll partner closely with Operations, Finance, Demand Planning and NPD to ensure supply reliability, margin protection and strong commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own sourcing, ordering and delivery of raw materials, packaging and components to contract manufacturers
- Align supplier lead times with production schedules and resolve delays before they impact manufacturing
- Maintain visibility of component status to inform commercial decisions
- Lead pricing, MOQ and contract term negotiations with suppliers and manufacturers, manage supplier scorecards, quarterly reviews and commercial performance
- Run cost‑down initiatives, competitive tenders and landed cost modelling
- Build dual‑sourcing strategies and manage supplier risk and compliance
- Drive cross‑brand COGS optimisation and structural cost reduction.
- Shape procurement network strategy — supplier mix, markets and manufacturing partners
- Own payment terms and working capital strategy with Finance
Planning & Cross‑Functional Alignment
- Align procurement planning to demand forecasts and safety stock policy
- Provide commercial capacity planning ahead of launches and peak trading
- Partner with Demand Planning, Finance and Operations on forecasting, S&OP; and budget inputs
NPD Commercial Support
- Provide commercial feasibility, landed cost and lead‑time input into NPD stage‑gate
- Scout packaging, materials and ingredient options with NPD
- Identify cost‑down opportunities early in development
- Lead procurement‑related commercial projects including supplier consolidation, category strategy and acquisition due diligence
- Act as escalation point for significant commercial or supplier risk
Stakeholder Communication & Commercial Support
- Serve as the primary commercial contact for suppliers and manufacturers
- Support brand, marketing and sales teams with costing for promotions and new SKUs
- Communicate commercial risks, cost pressures and mitigation options clearly to senior stakeholders
About You
- 8+ years in Procurement, Sourcing, Category management or similar within Beauty, FMCG or Consumer goods
- Strong commercial negotiation experience with suppliers and contract manufacturers
- Proven track record delivering cost‑down initiatives and landed cost improvements
- Experience building supplier scorecards and running structured business reviews
- Skilled in sourcing packaging, materials or ingredient innovation with NPD teams
- Strong analytical capability, able to build cost and landed cost models
- Strategic thinker with clear communication skills and robust commercial judgement
- Structured, solutions‑oriented and thrives in quick‑paced, scaling environments
