We’re seeking two Financial Accountants to join a high‑performing national finance team within a professional services environment. This role involves supporting day‑to‑day financial operations, working closely with senior finance leaders, and contributing to the growth and capability of the finance function.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing month‑end journals and rollovers, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and revenue
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and commentary
- Preparing and managing balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting BAS, FBT, and other tax compliance processes
- Maintaining the fixed asset register and chart of accounts
- Assisting with year‑end processes, audits, and work papers
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow reporting
- Completing statutory and external reporting requirements
- Mentoring and supporting junior finance team members as required
- Maintaining finance records, documentation, and filing systems
- Collaborating with the Accounts Payable team in vendor verification processes
- Reviewing employee expense claims for accurate G/L coding
- Assisting with ad hoc administrative tasks and projects to support the broader finance function
About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring a strong technical accounting foundation, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work confidently with a range of stakeholders.
Qualifications
- CA or CPA qualification (or currently working towards)
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant post‑qualification experience within a law firm or similar workplace
- Strong understanding of tax compliance and financial reporting requirements
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex reconciliations
- Advanced Excel skills, including working with large datasets and complex formulas
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support and mentor others
