About the role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Youth Work skilled to step into the role of Senior Youth Services Development Officer on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to further develop your leadership capabilities while taking a proactive role in shaping and delivering youth services across Casey. Leveraging your strong relationship-building and customer service skills, you will empower young people to thrive through meaningful programs and engagement initiatives that strengthen wellbeing, build resilience and foster a sense of belonging within our diverse community.
This role will be based in community facilities and other community spaces including councils Youth Information Centres
What You’ll deliver
- Build trusted relationships with young people through proactive engagement in community and youth service settings, including Youth Information Centres, connecting them to opportunities, support services and networks that help them achieve their goals.
- Design and deliver engaging youth programs, outreach initiatives and leadership opportunities that encourage participation, amplify young people's voices and strengthen community connection
- Work collaboratively with young people, families, schools and community organisations to deliver impactful programs, provide support pathways and champion positive outcomes for young people across Casey.
- Ensure compliance with Child Safe policy and procedures, including reporting and documentation.
What You’ll Bring
- A demonstrated passion for supporting and engaging young people, together with experience in:
- Building authentic relationships with young people from diverse cultural, social and lived-experience backgrounds.
- Designing and delivering engaging programs, events and initiatives that inspire youth participation and development
- Conducting sound assessments, referrals and reporting across child safety requirements.
- Qualifications in Community Services, Youth Work, welfare or similar discipline.
- Current Victorian Driver Licence and ability to drive a vehicle/van.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check and Functional Assessment
