The Role:

Manage a portfolio of third party credit hire claims within the Recoveries & Settlements Department, whilst achieving cost effective and quality claims outcomes through robust relationships with team members, internal and external service providers.

Position Accountabilities

Management of claims for Third Parties either claiming directly through Auto & General, or through their own insurance, where the Third Party has hired a vehicle under credit.

Completing comprehensive liability reviews to determine apportionment of fault related to motor vehicle accidents.

Negotiating favourable claim outcomes based on liability, fair & reasonable costs, credit hire cost mitigation strategies, and legal precedents.

Handling inbound claims enquiries from direct third parties, third party insurers, credit hire agencies, recovery agents, legal representatives, customers and suppliers.

Connecting third parties with our repairer network, ensuring high-quality repairs and a seamless, positive claims experience

Providing a seamless claims experience for third parties by delivering clear communication and outstanding customer service

Arranging direct settlements to third parties, ensuring timely payments for all claims-related expenses

Managing relationships across our network of repairers, suppliers, and all relevant internal and external stakeholders.

Operating in accordance with the Insurance Contracts Act, the General Insurance Code of Practice,



and all other prescribed regulatory and compliance requirements.

Ensuring comprehensive understanding and strict adherence to all assigned risk and compliance responsibilities, as defined by Auto & General policies and relevant regulations

Qualifications and Experience

- Motor claims settlements or recoveries experience
- Strong understanding of liability and Australian road rules.
- Well grounded negotiation skills
- Debt collection, paralegal or insurance brokerage experience
- Credit Hire recovery agent experience (Highly Desirable)
- Motor claims insurance experience - credit hire or litigation (Highly Desirable)
