Kurrajong have worked for over 68 years helping people with disability to achieve their goals and live a life of their choice in open, accessible and inclusive communities. As a not-for-profit National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider, we deliver a wide range of services across the Riverina Murray region, with our Head Office based in Wagga Wagga.
About The Prospect
We have several exciting opportunities for enthusiastic Community Support Workers to join our Lifestyle Choices team in Wagga Wagga. These are casual positions providing coverage for planned leave and short-notice absences, so flexible availability is highly desirable. Lifestyle Choices operates Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 6:30pm.
Based at Hildasid Farm, Lifestyle Choices provides a welcoming and engaging day program for people with disability. The site offers a range of facilities and activities, including an art room, fully equipped kitchen, gardening, bike and walking tracks, a drama room and performance stage.
In this role, you will support clients to participate in meaningful activities at Hildasid Farm and throughout the local community. This may include swimming, visiting local attractions and supporting clients to build skills, confidence and social connections.
As a Community Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support tailored to the individual needs, goals and interests of our clients.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Creating an inclusive and supportive environment that empowers people with disability and encourages community participation
- Supporting clients to achieve their goals across areas such as volunteering, communication, creative expression, independent living skills, sport and recreation
- Researching, developing and delivering meaningful activities that build skills, confidence and independence
- Supporting clients to access and participate in activities within the local community
Most importantly, you will have a genuine desire to support people with disability and a strong understanding of person-centred practice, choice and independence.
Current First Aid and CPR certificates are essential requirements of this role.
