Macquarie Geotechnical is a Geotechnical Consulting / Drilling & Construction Materials Testing company working on road, rail and mining infrastructure projects throughout Australia. We maintain a fleet of modern drill rigs, support equipment and tools that are at the forefront of the industry.

We are currently seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Lidcombe, Sydney NSW.

Responsibilities

- Experience in client facing roles, developing good working relationships with other professionals within wider project teams.
- Build and maintain client relationships with new and key clients thus developing current business opportunities.
- Ability to support the NSW team, including allocation of resource, supporting, development of staff and lead project teams through the site investigation and consulting project lifecycle.
- Design, plan and manage geotechnical site investigation projects to meet the needs of our clients.
- Interpret site investigation data and prepare guidance, consulting advice, and geotechnical designs.
- Management of project finances including invoicing, preparation and working to budgets, sub-contractor contracts etc.




- Provide contribution to planning and business development of the NSW Geotechnical Operations geotechnical and support the General Manager based on strategic growth in Queensland and Victoria.
- Promoting Health and Safety knowledge and understanding.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Tertiary qualification in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology.
- Minimum Fifteen years experience in planning, managing, and delivering Site Investigations.
- Chartered CPEng or Cgeol and RPEQ / NER Status.
- Foundation design and ground improvement works experience.
- Budgeting and expense reporting.
- Keen observation skills to monitor the safety performance of a workplace and identify risks or hazards.
- Excellent organisational skills for all documentation related to workplace compliance and WHS program to educate employees.
- Proven experience in a similar leadership role.
- A current drivers licence.
