This is an open-ended recruitment pool, and suitably qualified applicants may be appointed to ongoing permanent full‑time positions at Casuarina Prison at any stage throughout the recruitment period.

Currently, there are thirteen (13) permanent positions available for immediate filing at Casuarina Prison.

About The Role

Corrective Services is seeking motivated and experienced individuals to join our team of healthcare professionals at Casuarina Prison in the role of Clinical Nurse.

In this role, you will work at the forefront of care coordination, disease prevention and management, and health promotion, as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. Every day brings variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to positively impact the health and wellbeing of a diverse and complex cohort.

As a nurse at Casuarina Prison, you will deliver culturally safe primary healthcare and emergency response to adult males in custody.

As part of the Health Services team, the successful applicant will be expected to:

- Maintain focus on the Department's goals concerning safety, security and rehabilitation.
- Work to improve communication and model integrity and respect in all interactions.
- Operate within the Department's Corporate Governance Framework, policies and procedures and ensure effective transparency and accountability of all Department activity.




- Operate within chain of command facilities to coordinate activities required to meet the Department’s strategic objectives.
- Work collaboratively to achieve common goals and best practice and facilitate business improvements as appropriate.

Eligibility

To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Successful applicants must already be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
