Guardian Australia is seeking an associate news editor to join our Newsdesk team in Sydney or Melbourne. This full time, 18-month contract involves planning, editing and commissioning, on a seven-day roster with early starts or late finishes.

You will edit copy, check headlines, manage reporters, and work with multimedia editors to present stories in accessible formats. Hybrid working and a focus on independent journalism are offered.
