The Department

The Anaesthesia Department is fully accredited for specialist training and delivers a comprehensive and high-quality service across the hospital, including:

- Pre-admission assessment clinics
- Acute Pain Service rounds
- Anaesthesia and sedation for medical and procedural services

The department has a strong teaching culture and supports a broad multidisciplinary training cohort, including:

- Queensland Anaesthesia Rotational Training Scheme (QARTS) trainees
- College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) trainee
- Rural Generalist trainee
- Principal House Officers (PHOs)
- Junior House Officers (JHOs)
- Dedicated Acute Pain Service Nurse

Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

- FANZCA with specialist registration (or eligibility) with AHPRA
- ANZCA Advanced Trainees within 6 months of attaining Fellowship
- International Medical Graduates :
- Assessed by ANZCA as Substantially Comparable
- OR with ANZCA interview dates confirmed
- Doctors from New Zealand, UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, South Africa, Hong Kong, and Taiwan are encouraged to apply and may be eligible for assessment pathways
