Executive Program Director | Major Queensland Government Transformation

Aspirante is partnering with a Queensland Government agency to appoint an exceptional Executive Program Director to lead the next phase of a landmark, multi-year transformation that will influence the future delivery of government services across Queensland.

The transformation is already underway. The next phase will establish the governance, strategic direction and delivery capability required to mobilise a major multi-agency program and lay the foundations for its long-term success.

Backed by an initial $27 million funding allocation over the first 18 months, this is a rare opportunity to shape a program from its formative stages while working alongside Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and other senior government executives.

Offering an executive contract of up to $2,500 per day , this role provides the opportunity to make a lasting impact while enjoying the flexibility of a contract engagement.

Working with an established leadership team, you'll establish the governance, executive engagement, delivery capability and strategic roadmap that will underpin one of Queensland Government's most significant transformation initiatives.

The first 18 months are focused on mobilisation, establishing executive governance, aligning stakeholders, progressing procurement, initiating priority projects and preparing the future investment strategy that will support subsequent delivery phases.

Success won't be measured solely by projects delivered. It will be measured by the quality of the foundations you establish for the years ahead.

Your impact

You'll provide executive leadership across a complex, high-profile transformation by:

Leading the mobilisation of a significant multi-agency transformation program.

Establishing governance, reporting frameworks and executive decision-making processes.





Building trusted relationships with Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and senior executives across multiple agencies.

Translating an approved business case into a clear and executable program roadmap.

Managing complex cross-agency priorities, dependencies and strategic risks.

Leading procurement activities and future investment planning.

Providing strategic oversight across ICT, data, digital and business transformation initiatives.

Building the capability, culture and leadership required to deliver long-term program success.

About you

You'll be recognised as a respected executive leader who is comfortable operating in complex government environments and influencing at the highest levels.

You'll bring:

Current or recent experience leading major government transformation programs at Executive Director, Executive Program Director or equivalent level.

Significant Queensland or Australian Government leadership experience.

A proven track record delivering complex, enterprise or whole-of-government transformation initiatives.

Experience engaging Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners or equivalent executive stakeholders.

Strong governance, stakeholder management and strategic leadership capability.

Experience with government business cases, procurement, investment approvals and funding processes.

Sufficient technical understanding to confidently engage with solution architecture, enterprise technology, ICT and data specialists while providing strategic leadership.

Outstanding communication, negotiation and executive influencing skills.

Exceptional judgement, integrity and commitment to public sector values.
