We're partnering with a well-funded enterprise AI team in Sydney that is executing at scale. The roadmap is defined, the funding is committed, and the team is building production-grade AI systems across multiple product lines and business units.

This is a central AI engineering function, the engine room for how AI gets built and delivered across the organisation. Customer-facing virtual agents, internal copilots, intelligent document processing, workflow automation, and decision support systems. Real use cases, live in production, at enterprise scale.

Role

As Lead AI Engineer you'll take technical ownership of architecture, hands-on development, and production reliability across a broad range of AI-powered products. You'll work closely with model and data teams to productionise and scale capability across every product line the team supports. This is a role for someone well beyond proof of concept who knows what it takes to keep AI systems running when they matter most.

What They're Looking For

- 10 to 15 years of software engineering experience, with meaningful production-grade AI delivery




- Robust backend engineering depth, Python preferred, strong OO fundamentals throughout
- Proven experience building and scaling distributed systems in enterprise environments
- Deep familiarity with LLM ecosystems, RAG pipelines, agentic frameworks, and multi-agent orchestration
- Hands-on experience with agentic tooling such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar
- Strong understanding of MCP and how to build systems that integrate and orchestrate multiple agents reliably
- Experience with Vertex AI or comparable enterprise AI platforms
- Solid across the full SDLC: design, build, test, deploy, and production support
- Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native infrastructure
- Understanding of LLMOps, how to deploy, monitor, and iterate on AI systems in production

Depth over breadth. They want an engineer who has built with these frameworks under pressure, at scale, and kept them running.
