Manager Aquatic Resource Management & Manager Aquaculture

This role is a permanent position available for immediate filling. It offers the prospect to work from home up to two days per week.

About the Opportunity

These positions are responsible for leading effective and efficient branch operations, providing policy and legislative advice, guiding the delivery of regulatory and project initiatives, and engaging closely with stakeholders. The Manager Aquatic Resource Management focuses on fisheries and aquatic resources, while the Manager Aquaculture focuses on sustainable commercial aquaculture development.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and review strategic-level policies and strategies to support effective management of fisheries and aquatic resources.
- Deliver high-level policy advice to senior management and contribute to long-term resource sustainability and sector performance.
- Coordinate and provide strategic advice to the Aquaculture Executive Committee and other departmental aquaculture management committees.
- Represent the Department at State and national levels in aquaculture management.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the Department and industry on aquaculture management matters.
- Direct and manage staff to ensure key programs and policies are delivered on time, within scope,



and to a high standard.

Qualifications

- A tertiary qualification in Management, Science, Economics, Public Administration, or other relevant area, or equivalent relevant extensive experience.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in fisheries and/or aquaculture management.
- Experience in policy development.
- Ability to effectively engage, liaise and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership, communication and consultation skills.
