About the role
This is an Aboriginal Identified Position - authorised under the S14d of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.

This is a temp part time role up to 30 June 2031 with a possibility of extension due to funding.

Supports CLS program participants, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, to build strengths, set goals and live well in their community. Providing practical support that is culturally responsive and recovery focused, the Aboriginal Wellbeing worker helps builds independence, confidence and connection, while working collaboratively with families, services and community.

Skills & Experience

1. Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be an active member within the Aboriginal communities across the relevant CLS program location.
2. Qualifications in mental health, health or community/social services discipline (minimum Certificate IV).
3. Demonstrated commitment to working from a recovery orientation, in line with the National Framework for Recovery Oriented Mental Health Services.
4. Demonstrated capacity to engage with and mentor people, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people,



to work towards their recovery goals in a structured and planned way.
5. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and develop positive and effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including program participants, families and carers and other service providers.
6. Experience in developing and maintaining successful partnerships with Aboriginal organisations and communities.
