We have an exciting opportunity in our NPD Team for an experienced Senior NPD Technologist. Your role will include:
- Development and improvement of new and existing products, nutritional panels, ingredient lists, and PIF’s
- Creating & updating BOM’s, specifications, NIP and mixing instructions in MRP system
- Implement technical improvements in both sensory and nutritional profile for alternate ingredients
- Liaising with major customers on Private Label product changes
- Maintaining retailers Coles and Woolworths portals for product specifications
- Lead/Organise Assisting in the planning and execution of factory trials and manage documentation.
- Requires strong knowledge and hands-on experience in baking products from scratch, including ingredient functionality, recipe formulation, mixing processes, baking techniques, and product quality.
- Review, verify, and approve product packaging artwork to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, correct ingredient declarations, nutritional information, allergen statements, and alignment with product specifications before production.
- Evaluate and validate alternative ingredients to improve product quality, functionality, cost-effectiveness, supply continuity, and manufacturing efficiency, ensuring compliance with product specifications and food safety requirements.
- Develop and update product attribute documentation to support product development, manufacturing, and customer requirements.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Assist with site compliance, Supplier audits and routine internal audits & inspections and complete reports
- Providing leadership, support and guidance to Food Technology team members
- Attending regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensuring legislation for food standards and external quality standards and processes are met
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Food Technology / Science
- 3-5 years’ experience in similar role
- Experience in product labelling compliance and VITAL allergen assessment certification
- Experience performing internal audits against food safety standards, quality procedures, and regulatory requirements
