The Commercial Specialist/s will provide expert commercial, procurement and contract management support for activities related to the delivery of Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) UAS programs.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy Development: Design and implement fit-for-purpose procurement methodologies that support rapid on boarding and sustainment of UAS capabilities under the A6020 and RAS at Scale Delivery Model.
Contracting Expertise: Advise on and develop contracting options, including standing offers, panels, and performance‑based models, to achieve value for money and operational flexibility.
Approach-to-Market Leadership: Support market engagement activities, including RFIs, RFTs, and industry briefings, ensuring compliance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and Defence‑specific policies.
Tender Development: Prepare comprehensive tender documentation, including Statements of Work, evaluation criteria, and contractual terms, aligned with RAS at Scale principles for trusted and sovereign sourcing.
Risk and Compliance Management: Provide commercial risk analysis and ensure adherence to export control requirements,
governance frameworks, and Defence ethical and legal obligations.
Essential Requirements
Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting
Solid analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to negotiate desirable outcomes
Solid working knowledge of the ASDEFCON contract suite from initial tailoring through to in‑service management
Negotiation experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to engage collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
The ability to understand contractual artefacts and contract management plans to procure goods and services to meet complex stakeholder needs.
Desirable Requirements
A tertiary degree or higher in business, law, commerce, finance or similar
Demonstrated knowledge of AIC Frameworks
