The Role
This new position will be reporting to the project Safety Manager and based on site in Sydney where you will be responsible for supporting the project to ensure compliance with local Health and Safety management plans, regularly review risk registers, and implement programs stipulated in the DTI Health and Safety plans, together with the Integrated Management System (IMS).
Typical duties will include but not limited to,
Partner with project teams to maintain compliance with relevant legislation and DTI policies and procedures
Coach project teams with sub-contractor management requirements including review of SWMS, ATWPs, completion of DTI and site inductions
Participation in pre-starts, conduct of daily plant check sheets and compliance with Health and Safety MPs.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities and assist with solution development and implementation
Assist with Health and Safety project training and communication requirements for workers and contractors
Supporting 1st, 2nd and 3rd Party audits of the IMS
Produce audit reports and corrective action reports.
Provide support and guidance to managers through the return to work and injury management processes
About You
Minimum 2 years' relevant industry experience
Certificate IV Workplace Health and Safety essential
Rail Safety Induction essential
Certificate IV Training and Assessing or similar desirable
Quality/Safety Lead Internal Auditor or similar desirable
Lead ICAM Incident Investigation or similar desirable
Return to work coordinator certificate desirable
Ability to prepare management and data analysis reports
