We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded senior Business Manager to join our Equity Research team. This is a great opportunity to build deep expertise in research operations within a high-performing, collaborative team.
The role requires an understanding of how a sell-side research business operates end to end, including client agreements and enablement, publishing and distribution, research technology and platforms, data infrastructure, product development, strategic planning, compliance, and commercial operations.
You will work closely with the Co-Heads of Research and will serve as the primary operational and business management contact for the Research division. You will engage with stakeholders across the firm, making strong communication and relationship-building skills essential. This is a full time, office-based role.
Responsibilities
Research client access and distribution
Negotiate and manage research service agreements
Oversee end-to-end client access to research, including via third-party platforms
Maintain processes and systems for distribution, consumption monitoring, and compliance with research access guidelines
Work closely with the Equities team on client initiatives and service
Compliance, risk and governance
Work with Compliance, Risk and Legal teams to support the implementation of policies and group business initiatives, and maintain a robust front-to-back control environment
Work with Compliance on research approval and oversight, and on research policies and procedures
Manage operational risk, including implementing and documenting business controls and process improvements




Contribute to business continuity planning and risk management activities
Technology, data and distributor management
Work with the Technology team to support platform enhancements, and to maintain a robust data and systems environment for the Research team
Support the safe implementation and adoption of AI tools
Manage data subscriptions and vendor relationships
Research management
Produce management reporting, including for Board and Committees
Support team recruitment and professional development
Oversee team administration, including travel, expenses and training
Work with Finance on budgeting and forecasting
Represent Research in firm-wide project and change management initiatives
About You
Minimum 7 years' experience in financial services, with direct exposure to sell-side equity research operations, research management, or a closely related business management function
Robust understanding of the sell-side research environment, including research production and distribution, client research relations, and the regulatory framework governing research services
Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders across Research, Equity Sales and Trading, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Finance
High attention to detail with sound judgement in ambiguous or sensitive situations
Commercially minded, proactive, and capable of operating independently with minimal supervision
Experience with AI tools, Salesforce and research-related technology platforms
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (finance, economics, law, or business)
