Surgical Veterinary Nurse (Full or Part Time)

Our Surgery Department is made up of
2 Specialist Surgeons and a team of 5 dedicated nurses

There is potential for this role to grow into a full-time position in the future.
You'll Rotate Through a Variety Of Responsibilities, Including
Anaesthesia nursing for surgical, imaging and emergency procedures
Preparing patients for surgery, including clipping and surgical scrubbing
Theatre nursing while maintaining strict aseptic technique
Monitoring and caring for hospitalised surgical patients
Surgical float nursing
Assisting with specialist consultations and patient checks
Coordinating patient handovers between departments
Maintaining theatre equipment, sterile stores and high clinical standards
Helping ensure a protected, clean and efficient hospital environment
We Are Looking For
Passionate about delivering outstanding patient care and enjoys working in a fast-paced specialist environment.
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
At least 3 years' experience in general practice, or 1+ year in a specialist referral hospital




Experience or a strong interest in surgery and/or anaesthesia
Excellent technical nursing skills, including:
Anaesthesia monitoring
IV catheter placement
Blood collection
TPR monitoring
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A calm, organised approach in busy clinical situations
A willingness to learn and embrace feedback
A positive attitude and genuine passion for veterinary nursing
Participation in our
1 in 10 weekend on-call roster
is required.
